Tony Bones Entertainment - "Children's Theatre by Qualified Teachers" are running auditions throughout March & April 2009 for new party performers (male & femle) & theatre in education performers (male & female).
PARTIES -
Party shows (Pirate, Fairy, Super Hero, Princess, Clown, Mermaid, Cowboy, Witch, Wizard, Dancing Rock Star, Teddy Bear & Bunny Rabbit) are original scripted & highly structured shows for 1 to 12 year old children performed at private homes, libraries & public events (feature act at Puffing Billy school holiday program, Moomba, Australian Cricket Team Xmas Party, etc). The shows are written by Tony Appleby B.Ed with music by Tony, Tim Smith Dip Ed & Luke Hunter Dip Ed.
For solo & dual character kid's parties the company is seeking 5 new male performers & 3 new female performers to join the current team for party performing around Melbourne. All the shows are fully scripted & the company provides all the rehearsals, costumes, music & admin. Performers just need to provide their own vehicle to get to & from gigs from our office in Hughesdale / Chadstone (travel fees now paid at an average of $1 per km), their own stereo & their own footwear. Parties are paid at a minimum of $75 per show & average a profit for performers of around $85-$90 for a one hour show. Performance includes a 45 minute show with present giving, 2-3 monologues, 2 simple original songs with basic dances, 1 game, 1 main activity (treasure hunt, etc), magic trick, then 15 minute colouring activity for the kids whilst the performer does balloon sculpting then handing out lollypops & business cards at the end. 1 hour in all & all skills are taught in rehearsals.
Party characters & shows can all be seen in the "kids party shows" section of the website www.tonybones.com.au
Auditionees need to be reliable, hard-working, be able to sing in tune, act fun character roles & be available to work weekends generally between 10am & 6pm (some work for playgroups, kinders, etc is also available weekdays). Good, reliable performers average 3 parties per weekend (sometimes less, sometimes up to 10 parties a week are available).
