Audition Sunday 1st August 2010 at Phoenix Theatre, Memorial Hall, Cnr Carrington St and Rockingham Road, Hamilton Hill.

Performance Dates 25, 25, 27 28, November, 2, 3, 4 December 2010

Rehearsals will be Wednesday and Sundays from mid August. Children will mainly only be required on Sundays until closer to performance dates. Rehearsals will be in Spearwood.

This is an adaptation of the Dickens A Christmas Carol with songs. As well as the main characters, there are many small parts and chorus required. Chorus and parts are for all ages from children to the more senior performers! There may be some doubling of characters.

To arrange an auditions please email jane@sherwoodoffice.com to get a time or if you have any questions. Auditions will be held between 9am and 5pm on Sunday 1st August 2010. Please prepare a chorus and verse from a song. If you require accompaniment please bring a CD – there will be no pianist available for the auditions.

You will also be required to do a cold reading from the script.

Below are a few of the bigger parts

Male characters
Ebenezer Scrooge – stage age – old – sings 7 songs either as solos or with other.
Nephew – any age to 40’s – sings 3 songs
Bob Cratchit – father of Tiny Tim – 3 songs
Tiny Tim – young boy – 1 song

Female Characters
Spirit – any age
Mrs Cratchit – mother of Tiny Tim
Christmas Past – any age – may be child

There are a lot of smaller parts - we are looking for a total cast of 30-40. There are also some non singing roles if you want to be a part of the show but don’t want to sing.

Could you please advise the vocal range required for easch role?

Hi Maljo

Sorry for the delay - I just noticed your question.

All of the voices are mid range - nothing too difficult. The only only that might be a bit more restricted is the nephew which would probably be a little high for a Bass but should be fine for tenor or baritone.
