Upstart Theatre Company is pleased to announce that auditions for its Shakespeare on the Lake: The Tempest season are now open and will be held at the Blue Room Theatre in Northbridge, Perth.
For the last two years Upstart has ventured out towards Perth's magnificent Swan Valley in order to bring a little bit of the Bard's magic to anyone willing to spread a blanket and experience one of the finest evenings of free entertainment one can enjoy.
Now the time has come for our third season, and we need actors to bring to life the power and majesty of one of the Bard's most beautiful works.
We are seeking a wide diversity of actors from different backgrounds and with all levels of experience to prepare and memorise a single monologue (preferably above 12 lines) from any of Shakespeare's works. Please also be prepared for some light physical work based around the piece you prepare.
Auditions will be held on the 31st of July and 1st of August, with slots available between 10am and 4pm. Call back times will be arranged after the audition rounds have closed. The performances will take place in the last week of November and the first two weeks of December, 2010.
Good luck, and remember- 'We are such stuff as dreams are made on.'
