The story tells of a solicitor named Arthur Kipps who is obsessed by a ghostly curse. He decides to engage the services of a young actor to help him tell his terrifying story.

There are just two characters. The first person we meet is Arthur Kipps. He’s a Solicitor, a distinguished older gentleman.

The actor is in his late twenties yet he still retains his boyish good looks.

Between them the two men play a variety of different characters who appear in the story.
