The City of Perth and Climbing Vine Theatre Company are staging award winning playwright Emma Humphreys' new work "Wild Things" at the Perth Town Hall from November 26th to December 2nd 2012.
"Wild Things" is a movement-based theatre performance about the primal nature of mankind and the tribal roots of our modern cultures. The play features stories of the mountains, forrests, deserts and seas, presented with lyrical storytelling in a tribal circle atmosphere.
Climbing Vine is seeking four actors to join our cast, in three different capacities.
Male Actor (Aged 18-25) - PAID ROLE. There is an opening for a professional male actor to
join our cast. MUST HAVE HAD PREVIOUS PAID ACTING WORK. We are
looking for a male actor with a reasonable degree of physical
fitness. Previous movement, dance or physical theatre
experience is an advantage, but is not essential. A willingness
to embrace new skills is more important.
1 Male and 1 Female Workshop Student (Aged 18-25) - There is an opportunity for 1 male and
1 female actor aged 18 to 25 to join us as students from August
to December and learn physical performance skills in a
production-based professional environment. Students will
feature prominently in the production and will have the
opportunity to enrol in further programs with Climbing Vine on
completion. Prior experience in performance is an advantage but
not essential.
1 Male Scholarship Student (Aged 18-25) - There is an opportunity for 1 male actor aged 18
to 25 undertake training as a student with us free of cost
and feature in "Wild Things". The scholarship student will
learn physical performance skills in a production-based
professional environment.Prior experience in performance is
an advantage but not essential. Scholarship applicants will
participate in an interveiw and audition process.
Auditions will take place in early August.
You need to be available every Wednesday from 5.30pm-9.30pm from August-December, and for two weeks rehearsal (5pm-9pm weeknights, 9am-1pm weekends) in mid-November.
