A romantic actor required .. someone who can undertake a challenge

magic_of_life | 16/08/2006 - 16:34

I need help from an actor … or someone studing to be an actor .. one that is a romantic and will help another romantic soul perform something ‘different’ for his lady.

This could be good experience for someone who wants a small dramatic part in a public place … surely there is one romantic aspiring actor who can help me.

What am I after .. well I want an actor to be dressed in 18th century page boy costume to deliver a ‘glass slipper’ to my lady at her work in Westmead near Parramatta .. it will take all of 15 mins and if done right will be a memory never forgotten by her …

I don’t want a ‘courier’ but rather someone that will deliver this with the same passion as I would intend ..

I know this is unusual .. but .. I wanted to try … Do I have a hope ?? .. please, if your a romantic, just let me know either way

Jim

Flash some cash. Do you think were all willing to do absolutely anything for free?

And if she means that much to you, why not do it yourself?

thank you

.. ok Paul .. thank you for your comments ..

I did not say I would not be willing to pay for the right person .. just have to find someone that understands the magic of romance ... and if I did it myself it would remove an aspect of engagement .. to have someone else involved, that is NOT me, would mean that she would appreciate my effort and the reflection of others would give her more focus .. I want to make this a memory .. romanticism Paul, thats all..

Thanks anyway Paul.

Sigh and alas ... it appears I will not find the adventurous spirit within this vestibule of ether .. its is a shame though ... and perhaps a testament to the dying art of romance .. never mind .. I will still hold the light high above my head in my search, until another brave soul, eager to help me touch a woman's heart with sensitivity and creativity, is found ...

But I am curious .. Was this too difficult a task ?.. or perhaps not seen as one that would challenge ? .. or is it simply the ravings of a love struck Romeo that has no place in this modern world of cold love and sexless distintiction ? Are even actors so focused on realities rather than 'stories' to contemplate this ?

Anyway I thank all that replied or even read my message and will continue my search through other avenue's to find an 'actor' or even another romantic soul in this quest ...

This isnt acting!!!
Are you an actor? If you are then you would know the answer to these "harrowing" questions....

> Are even actors so focused on realities rather than 'stories' to contemplate this ?

WE ARE ACTORS. YES! BUT We dont just do EVERYTHING because people say "i need an actor". I have to eat sleep and breathe too, BUT WAIT im going to take time off from being paid in a job that im only doing because there isnt an industry in this country to support everyone and me as a full time actor, and go all the way to Parrammatta to be "sensitive and romantic with a despondent attachment of creativity" because you wont do so yourself because it "wouldn't be the same".

Get a grip...and tell the girl that she means something to you. ITS NOT HARD!!!

YES your post is a testament to the dying art of fatuity!

Paul.

thanks ..

..once again Paul, thank you for your comments.

I'm sorry you feel you have to attack my intentions or my defintions of who I need, perhaps it is simply an expression that we do not share a common foundation or understanding of love.  Maybe you represent the majority of men that think in that way ... even so, I had hoped to find someone to simply 'act the part'. I obviously looked in the wrong place.

But seriously thank you .. you at least had the courage to write and express yourself. And, if nothing else, I have gained more of an understanding of your frustrations in attempting to work in this industry.

I do wish you all the best Paul ..

Jim, just want to wish you luck finding someone. As a female and a natural romantic at heart, I know your lady would love this gesture and I understand what you're saying about having someone else deliver the glass slipper... thing is, as you've discovered, there are men who don't have it... can't get it and probably never will and kudos to you for retaining your lovely sense of good breeding when under what seems even to me to be an unnecessary verbal attack on you and your intentions.

Maybe you could contact some amateur theatre groups nearby and get some contacts who might be interested? Is there none of those companies in your area that deliver crazy telegrams? Maybe one of them could dress as a page for a change if you supply the costume and deliver a slipper instead?

Anyhow, good luck - I think your idea is wonderful!

.. thank you for your sentiment my anonymous kindred spirit .. yes I knew a woman would understand and even appreciate the effort made in such a gesture.

In my ambition to make this adventure a reality I have written to Drama schools, universities that have Drama majors, amateur groups and even approached the Singing Telegram places .. however, either I do not find an attentive ear or the costs of over $300 just for delivery do not allow me to continue. Sigh .. I truely wish that budget is not a consideration, but alas ..

In the latest chapter of this quest I have written to costume hire places in the hope that possibly one of their staff would help .. sigh .. although I found someone keen to help, again the financial consideration of $350 does not allow me to persue.

I will not give up !!! Smiling .. I love this woman too much not to give her this memory .. this adventure .. this fantasy !

Um, yeah... That's a good idea. Having a minor at your house - that goes against all good advice and common sense in terms of auditioning students and other naive youngsters.
