It's a matter of courtesy

I'll keep up this campaign. It's a matter of courtesy if nothing else: please put your location in the TITLE of all postings when making theatre announcements, audition announcements, etc.

Not recognising that your readers might not be in your city or town demonstrates a narrow and provincial perspective. Failure to put the location for your theatre announcements, auditions, etc in the TITLE of your posts is ignorant and it displays a failure to understand the nature of the internet: it reaches far beyond your suburb!

This almost universal failure on the part of people posting on this site undermines its effectiveness and purpose.

Above all, though, it demonstrates that you don't care about your readers. As it stands, so many notices DON'T do their companies credit. Why are you posting these notices at all if you don't want to reveal the location of your theatre up front?

So James, I am assuming that you intend to read nothing on this site that doesn't have "Gold Coast" in the title. No interest at all in anything other than your own little parochial area.
You seem to be pretty much alone in your campaign. Does this tell you soemthing?
I read all reviews, all personal blogs and most production entries. In fact when I'm not busy I read everything. I don't want to know just about Adelaide.

Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.

Well, that's a pretty silly response. I rest my case. I've got more to do with my time, obviously....

Hi!

I think James does have a point, countless times I recieve audition notices-not just from/on this website, that don't have the location!
This not only wastes my time, but wastes the Di/Producer's (or who ever is running the audition) time! It would be so much more easier just to include the loc and filming/season dates!!! I spend ages typing up emails and phoning people, only to find I'm not in the criteria or it's all happening in a different state!
Perhaps James only wishes to point this out to people, I'm sure there are some people who would benifit from this comment!

I do also agree with you however, when I'm not busy studying (socialising/partying), I find the bulleting and comments left by peolpe interesting to read...like this one! Even if its not in Perth...

Cheers,

Paul van Lieshout Hunt

Thought you knew Grimm’s fairy tales? Think again.
Once upon a time…
Hidden in the crevices, drawn from the gutters and alleyways of life, comes a startling retelling of classic fairy tales.
This deliciously wicked and dangerously funny one-woman show stars Helpmann Award winning actor and singer Ursula Yovich (Australia, Jindabyne, Waltzing The Wilarra) playing a cast of bit characters from the stories of Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and more.
From one of Australia’s most original contemporary playwrights, Vanessa Bates (Checklist for an Armed Robber), this is a black comedy with songs – a night of stories told by twilight (the original kind) with werewolves and with magic…
