hey guys - i saw when i joined up that somone was looking for good extras agency - i thought i would shed a little light as an extra and been through the lot..... - my current agency is q talent i started with them then went onto voom (merium and vanessa) not bad at all - they treat you well and get a fair bit of work - went onto pg's they are ok - but have the contracts for all saints - home and away - things like that - they dont treat extras very well (late night calls in the middle of nowhere - no transport - no warning no notice no food things like that just no help!) not their fault i know but because of this when they do call extras, alot of them are always busy so its the same faces on set each time and unhappy faces at that. i have done mctv - forget it - total basturds..... not a single call then tried to charge me again to put me online - couldn't keep copies of photo's after spending hundreads for them - that kind of stuff and a lot of people i spoke to had the same experience (sorry guys we do talk on set... we need to to keep up with the industry)- they give the industry a bad name. went into a few other no name agents?????rosies - not me but others - not good feedback so far - and now back with gary at Q - they are so far the best - they treat you well - give as much notice as possible - try to help with transport - try to help with directions - costumes - training (yes they trai the extras to behave and what to do / not to do whilst onset) - will do your paperwork for you and are very helpfull and give the industry a good name - yes i am a little biest but they have done me proude - help me sign up with the meaa and gotten me loads of work. keeps me up to date with info on courses and training and understand i have a full time job so try to rotate fairly while keeping you paid up and out there in the circles. so the extras are much happier and willing to be sent around and more willing to say yes. they also do hospitality staff but dont let that frighten you as its seperate people for each side - its set up well.
i am very happy with them as are the other extras also so i would suggest you call gary if required 92817755 and ask the question you need to. he is a blast to talk to as well.
