STAR POWER

who cares | 24/04/2007 - 20:11

Hi everyone

Just wanted to let you know that hopefully , in the next week or so , STAR POWER will be able to announce one , two or possibly three fantastic new opportunities for the contestants of this brand new competition/ challenge.

One thing that people need to understand is that although the grand finalists will be given the chance to perform at His Majesty's theatre and be seen by the best in the business in stage, screen and television, they will not be the only people who will benefit.

Every person who enters the competition will be given individual feedback on their audition piece by our artistic director and the other judges. The top 100 who will be given fantastic workshops in characterisation, ensemble work , movement, song etc AND they will be watched by many of our local casting agents.

Don't miss out on this wonderful NEW concept. Entries close June 12th.

Star Power is not replacing Storm the Stage.

Bevan Lee withdrew his support from Storm last year as a judge and he withdrew the opportunities for auditions.

As far as I am aware Storm the Stage is still going to run although I havent heard that definitely.

Star Power is a new competition that is vastly different to Storm the Stage.

Star Power is interested in not simply allowing people to perform on stage for their friends and parents.

Star Power is not a teenage talent quest.

Star Power is offering new challenges, new directions, new opportunites , new age range, new prizes, new concepts etc.

Star Power is 16-25.

Star Power has fantastic education and training concepts involved and is vastly different to anything that Storm the stage did.

We have not replaced Storm the Stage, we have created a new competition that we think offers far more than any other competition.

I thought the distinction was pretty clear myself.

Why the focus on STS guys? Starpower is a very different format to STS. The challenges presented will be nothing like STS. It is new and different. That is all. What STS does is completely up to STS.
