A National competition that doesn't include NSW or SA?

We still don't know who the judges are for the grand final.

Why bother?

I think it comes as no surprise, especially due to the comments on another recent thread, that Storm the Stage is crumbling somewhat. The first years of this comp were run quite well, getting a decent number of contestants entering the competition judged by quality members of Perth's theatre scene. Now the numbers which in theory SHOULD have increased because of word of mouth etc, haven't, and because of this, I believe the quality has slipped and there seem to be several complaints as to how the judging and so forth is being handled. The publicity department has a lot to work on and I think the whole competition needs a bit of a shake up and some real 'know how' behind them. STS is a great concept and it is great that the rotarians support this. However there need to be a few more industry involved hands in the mix so that this competiton may exceed expectations. I welcome anyone to say what they think on the matter.

As for patron Hugh Jackman. His quote is about 4 years old now. Hugh's fantastic, but the competition needs a mentor that can be contacted, involved, and more importantly - present at the Grand Final.

That's what happens when another competition tries to steal Storm The Stage's thunder.
