Isn't Kristen Twynem -Perkins a dancer/choreographer? Up for Grabs isn't a musical.

I am stunned. The above comment shows an incredibly unpleasant prejudice. Do you really believe that dancers are incapable of becoming actors. Why is that? Do you have some antedeluvian belief that all dancers are bodies without brains? No wonder you have remained anonymous Star Actress. I could give you a list of the specialist dancers who have gone on to become highly regarded actors in the professional world but frankly I doubt that someone of your limited intelligence would have ever heard of them.
Tell you what I'll start off with Jimmy Cagney, Gates MacFadden, Ginger Rogers anyone else want to play.

Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.

Well I got dragged along to see this show last night.

It wasn't SUPPOSED to be a musical
For some reason they had music playing all through the show.
Still haven't decided whether I liked that or not.

The show, however, was fantastic!

Can Kirsten Twynum-Perkins act?
Still don't know - she did no visible acting last night... She WAS the character

In fact there was very little acting on the stage at all, it was great, we saw real live people on stage, not just characters!

I'd go again... in fact I think I will!

We had our tickets booked as soon as we could when we heard about who was in the cast.

Absolutely TERRIFIC performances from ALL the cast. Well done Kristen on what must be an exhausting role.

Well done to Paul Treasure on directing such a wonderful show and Kimberley... I was looking at Kimberley Shaw on stage but it wasn't Kimberley Shaw (Marty, does she ever lose it like that in real life?). Yes Kim and everyone else were indeed the characters they were portraying as 'These 'r' Us' mentioned.

It only has a very short season (5 performances left) and deserves a full house each night!

Having been lucky enough to witness the performances from ALL the ACTORS within this play I can honestly say that directors / choreographers / Findlay award winners and even those who are just amateur people willing to try a David Williamson play for the first time I take my hat off to you all. Congrats to Paul Treasure on what must have been an exhausting role as director for these seven fine talented ACTORS (irrespective of what past experience they have)
Also a quick note to compliment the lighting and sound technicians for this show, I may have misjudged but I'm sure I counted well over 150 lighting and sound cues..... That’s more than one a minute for this play. Congrats to all involved in this show and I know it's kind of a cliché but if you only see one show a year then I would certainly recommend you see this one.

I went along to see 'Up For Grabs' on Saturday night and was very impressed. To be honest I went along with low expectations but was highly entertained. A great script was complemented with a believable cast. The use of a simple minimal set and the use of the stage spaces and lighting worked very well. Well done Kwinana. This play is worth the time to go and see. And don’t be put off by shows being amateur productions. I went to see ‘Bug’ in Subiaco last week and was very disappointed in the acting of a professional show. I don’t know if it is still on but I saw ‘Not Like Becket’ in Fremantle the week before and it was fantastic. But back to KTW’s ‘Up For Grabs’ Congratulations to all.

I too saw this FANTASTIC production! What a treat This is one of things I like most about community theatre - it's such a lucky dip. Generally you will get a good night out, sometimes you get something that you don't like - this is a great opportunity to learn - How would I do this better? - and then sometimes you get totally surprised by a show that could easily run for months on the West End.

HUGE congratulations to the cast and crew!

Paul - you really told that story man - awesome work. As I said on the night, I don't stand unless I mean it!

Kristen - I thought you were absolutely FANTASTIC! I was troubled to read that some people believe that if one dances/choreographs one cannot act - glad to see you proved them wrong with a vengeance!

Melinda - A wonderful, honest and engaging performance - keep it up!

Kim - Simply stunning! There's nothing like treading the boards yourself to remind all those know-it-alls out there that you know a thing or two yourself about ALL things theatrical

Adam - Great to see you used on stage for a change - techs are so rare in community theatre that they often don't get the opportunity to show off their other talents!

Joy - Having watched you develop as a performer for some years now it was such a pleasure to see you truly own that part. Knock 'em dead darl - you've got the stuff

Don - It's nice to know that you're still around and giving your boundless energy to the theatre. The day Don Lee retires will be a sad day for all of us!

Lee - I have never seen you perform before and I have never worked with you before. I would dearly like to - whether being directed by you or smashing out a ripping scene for an audience. You were a pleasure to watch and for KTW's sake I hope you stay around.

And to close, endless Kudos for this magnificent show! As I said earlier, community theatre is somewhat of a lucky dip - and this show was definately one of those special treats that you find every now and again! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
