The Kookaburra Kids Australian Musical Theatre for Primary School, Middle School or Youth Theatre By Judith Prior

“The Kookaburra Kids” by Judith Prior.
A new musical theatre piece
for Youth Theatre, Primary or Middle Schools
Twenty-five speaking parts and chorus.
Some doubling possible.

I have fond memories of my excitement at being dressed as a tree for my very first school concert at five years of age. I thought at the time I had been given the important part because I was tall for my age but later ventures into stage productions confirmed the fact that as I really can’t act or sing..... and choreography is entirely beyond my comprehension, casting me as the tree was a brilliant choice by the school teacher director.

Judith Prior's "What's new Pussycat?" School or Youth Theatre Musical

Synopsis:

“What’s New Pussycat?” A Musical Comedy for Youth. by Judith Prior.
Cast: 12F 5M 10M/F Plus chorus. Some Doubling Possible.

A sparkling new comedic look at an old classic…. With great rock and pop songs added… The gutsy opening number, with chorus “Workin’ For the Man” introduces the oldest of three brothers, Tom Miller, newly in charge of the family Mill because of their father’s recent demise. The younger brothers Simon and Harry quickly learn that Tom’s selfish plans for the future do not include them. Tom begrudgingly gives his two brothers ten dollars each and tells them to fend for themselves.

Rockin Robin Rocks Bundaberg Qld

ROCKIN’ ROBIN

ROCKIN’ ROBIN

Moncrieff Theatre, Bundaberg
Written by Judith Prior
Directed and Choreographed by Dianne McLellan
Rockin Robin Rocked!

Judith Prior must be congratulated on writing a very fast moving, well, structured musical play which will be an asset for schools or theatre companies with youth theatres to perform. Even though this production had a large cast of around 50 the entire production could be staged with the Principals and a smaller chorus of around 10. It’s amazing what can be achieved when a community joins forces to create a positive image and stage experience for their actors of the future.
