Pulcinella lives a life of struggle against hunger, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, rats, dirt, hot and cold. It is a vitaccia (a very bad life). One day, Pulcinella meets Donna Zezza and the two fall in love. But, seized with a terribly fury of jealousy because Zezza – he believes – betrays him, Pulcinella enlists as a volunteer in the war trying to find a solution to his problem. Is there a solution? Yes, only one: another woman! But what comes of this are only more headaches! Will Pulcinella find love and tranquillity? A comic portrayal of life as a southern Italian servant.
