Endeavour Theatre Company are STILL seeking a mature (50s-60s) male (in fact ANY age - we will soon make you look older!!) to play the part of Gerald in "A Toe In The Water" - a comedy by Derek Benfield. Rehearsals are under way, and it was hoped that the performances would be at the beginning of May. However - with no Gerald, we will have to delay our production. Rehearsals and performances are at the Hamersley Apex Hall in North Beach. I know there is a shortage of males in amateur theatre, but we have never been in this predicament before! PLEASE HELP.

Awfully dispiriting for you that you've received no response to your appeals for help. I'm only sorry that I'm busy at present and look like being so for quite some time yet, as I'm of the right age and have done a Benfield comedy before. I'll try asking around, but you already know the pickings of available men are pretty slim, so I wouldn't be holding my breath.

If you are obliged to delay the production, how long would it be for?

If we are obliged to delay our production, I would hope that it would not be for more than a month, or two at most.

Have you thought about contacting Perth's acting agencies? They often put out casting calls for amateur productions, when asked nicely.
