13 year old girl looking for film auditions/ television series auditions in Perth.

Estokes | 17/01/2010 - 10:05

Hi,

My name's Elizabeth and I am trying so hard to search for film or t.v series work in W.A/Perth.

I love acting, and I'm a good singer. I have done a few ads when I was younger but not any proffesional acting, I have a happy attitude and I'm certainly willing to learn.

And that's my dream...to be in major movies and be a singer. But I have to build up.
So, if anyone knows of any small (or big) things I could do, please contact me...

Check out my details and stuff, and I would LOVE to hear from anyone.

Thankyou so much for reading.

xx

Casting in Perth

Sorry, this is Perth.
Nothing going on here, except student shorts.
Pretty much everything pitched for here gets cancelled, is refused funding, can't get investment, can't get decent cast and crew and ends up being filmed over East.
I'm sure you are lovely and talented but there is so little reason to be here in Perth if you want to make a reasonable go if it.
Convince Mum and Dad to mover over East?
That's where the work and the agents are.

The view that there is nothing in perth is not unwarranted but it is not entirely truthful either.
at your age perhaps some kids shows could beckon?
any way the best way to get any work is to get a decent Agent, I'm with actors now and Maxine is good for me so I recommend her. But don't expect anything big early, unless you get extremely lucky.
and as for agencys don't worry they normally only charge for head shots and commission.
so you pay nothing up front.

Tom, I think that Steph's comments hold more water than we'd like to admit.
My own agent is looking further afield for me now than at anytime before.
She says it's quiet and getting quieter, to the point she is beginning to question her agencies viability.
She, like me, may even head back over East herself, where at least some decent production is taking place,
So many promising productions have been lost to this state, often before they even come to the attention of actors and their agents though the CD's (Annie, Jennie, Jaqui) are quite aware of what's happening.
Often a brief is not even issued as a potential project dissapears before it can be acted on.
Just look at Dirt Music (cancelled) Batavia's Blood Temper Fury, which I'd won a good role in!!!! (cancelled) Rabbit Proof Fence (shifted to SA) The Drowner (finance withdrawn) and so many other films and TV shows that could have taken place here.
Now Steph (and his siblings) is in pretty deep with the production and performing community so I take pretty much all he says at face value.
Just wish he didn't sound so happy about it!

Fair enough then, but for a 13 year old a move interstate to seek work is a bit too big a step in any case. Unfortunately it would appear to be the step most likely to bear fruit.

Just a suggestion - this website and your details are pretty much viewable by anyone who cares to click on it. I would suggest that personal email info or phone numbers you may wish to keep to yourself as a precautionary measure given you are a minor. If people wish to share info with you they can always personally message you or post on the thread.
Good luck with your goals.

Thanks

Hehe. I sort of found out the hard way. Someone called my mum and we got into a huge discussion. .....But I've erased all details. Thanks.
