You're kidding. I thought it would be sold out by now. I mean, who doesn't want to see Breeahn Jones in a role where she doesn't get to sing? What about the chance to see Jarrod Buttery treading the boards once more? Angela Johnson as the best Kath I've ever seen. Murray Jackson hiding in the closet taking photos of...umm...nevermind, but we'll have sets of 6x4s available for sale after the show.

I first became aware of The Return, by Reg Cribb, when my brother was involved in a production of it in June of last year. From memory, it was directed by Karen Francis under the banner of Stray Cats Theatre Company. It played in Mandurah (and elsewhere I think), but I never got to see my brother's portrayal of Steve, as the Murdoch season was cancelled due to lack of bookings.

We are two weeks into our three week season of "First Sunday in December", an Australian comedy by Eric Scott. Audience numbers have been very pleasing so far, as the show is probably unknown to most, not having been perfomed in Perth before, to the best of my knowledge.

It's a busy time at Melville at the moment.
Coming up this Saturday is auditions for our one act season. I directed my first show in last years one-acts, and in keeping with our policy of giving new directors a go, we have two first timers this year, as well as one very experienced (and talented IMHO)director.

I was planning to have a rest after Doctor In The House was all over. It was all going to plan. I popped into the theatre to refocus the lights last Wednesday night for Absent Friends, as tech rehearsal was to be held Sunday.
