I am an English actor and singer on holiday in Adelaide for a few months (my visa runs until June). While I am here, I've been getting pangs for singing and performing, but naturally, most of the available opportunities are long term. Are there any choirs, singing groups, musical theatre groups, acting groups, open mic nights / poetry evenings I can be involved in whilst I'm here, without feeling as if I will let people down when I return to the UK?
Please let me know if so - I am not looking to work per se, just to do what I really enjoy and meet some like minded people while I'm over here!
My vocal style is unique, but I have a great deal of experience in all kinds of singing, especially lead and harmony (backing singing). I compose my own songs, which I feel gives me further musicality; you can hear some of these compositions on my website www.myspace.com/lizarcanemusic.
Similarly, if there are any producers out there looking for a summer project / who need a musician to complete a course, I could be the one for you as I am eager to do a new, swift acoustic guitar / piano recording.
Thank you!

Oklahoma! is the one of the first of what were called the American ‘book’ musicals where the music and lyrics added to and expanded on the story and as a result includes such classics as “Oh what a beautiful morning”, “Surrey with a fringe on top” and the cheeky “I’m jest a girl who Caint say no”. Manly Musical society in association with Bizzie productions have taken this well-loved musical and breathed new life into it with an amazingly talented young cast. The result is a vibrant and energetic retelling of this much loved piece. Book your tickets today to see the best of Sydney community theatre come together to present one of the most loved musicals of our time.
