Fires in WA

I hope that all of our friends in the West are well. I am sure that the thoughts and prayers of all non Western Australia residents go to those who may be affected by the fires. I lived through Ash Wednesday here in South Australia in 1985 so you have my deepest sympathies.

Dear Logos - thank you for your concern.

It is not my personal stomping ground, so I'm perhaps not the best to answer, however I believe the only theatre that was near the recent bushfires was Roleystone - and I understand they were not in the path of the fire.

I am not sure how many people in the theatre community were affected, but there were ceratinly a few, and of course we all know someone who was involved one way or another.

I have heard anecdotally that at least two houses destroyed belonged to Roleystone theatre members.

Melville Theatre will be donating the proceeds of our nightly raffle during our upcoming season of Zastrozzi to the Lord Mayor's Appeal.
We did this a couple of years back for the Victorian bushfires, and raised $700.00, so come along and splurge on the raffle.

Deepest sympathy to those who lost everything.

Roleystone Theatre was less than a kilometre from where the fire started, but thankfully it was upwind!

Many, many theatre members were in the evacuation zone, but so far I have only heard confirmation that one theatre member lost their house.

Roleystone Theatre will be holding a benefit concert in a couple of weeks
