It was me!

OK I admit it I was the one who posted the last utter rubbish setting on the MBC thread that killed it.
Maybe I shouldn't have but frankly it was beginning to completely p*** me off.
The very suggestion that the mob of individualistic lunatics that post on here would get together and conspire against Darcy was the final straw.

I seem to have missed all the anti-Labrug posts, which must have been voted off the island.
Never mind, just more of the usual tripe that shows up here from time to time.
Actually, things have been remarkably positive 'round here, on the whole, lately. I've particularly enjoyed the history of the Hole in the Wall, in response to my request for info.

Sometimes this site can produce good stuff - sometimes dross.

Well guys, I understand the mechanism of how threads can be moderated to the point they disappear, but it leaves a big gap in the record of the postings on here, you've mentioned a thread that, should I wish to peruse what was said I can no longer do so, and regardless of how utterly ridiculous and puerile the coments may have been, it effectively removes me from being able to judge the validity or otherwise of the comments that have disappeared into cyberspace.

Yes, the ridiculous comments from those that obviously have no lives and have to write nasty things at every opportunity; often under an alias, are a pain, but totally obliterating them can make people lose the context of other postings on here.

I wonder if those of us that are registered members could be able to have the ability, like moderation, to still be able to retreive comments when they disappear.

My favourite quote (because it reflects my values) is by Voltaire

"I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Robert: Generally I agree with you and I would not do this but in this case a truly scurrilous and in fact defamatory attack was made on a person who regularly posts on this site. A person for whom I have a deal of respect. I was not prepared to let it stand.

Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.

As I recall, there is a way to change your setting to receive "All the Rubbish".

I just can't recall how to do it. Although there may be a point where a post is so derisive, that it even disappears from the Rubbish Files.

These ones were certainly in that category. Send me an email if you like, and I'll give you a summary.

That only works for Comments that are moderated partly down. If a comment posting is moderated severly down, then it will vanish from public viewing. Only the Senior Admin Officer can view them.

This View All the Rubbish option does not apply to Main Thread Postings, or Nodes. Once sufficient negative votes have been submitted, they will be removed from public viewing.

Frankly, I'm surprised it didn't disappear sooner ... that is, I was very tempted to kill the thread permanently myself, but decided against it.

For the record, while a couple of members have the access described by Na above. I have expressly instructed that they refer concerns to me for action.
