2009 SOUTH-EAST QUEENSLAND DRAMA FESTIVAL CIRCUIT

Mark Lucas | 08/09/2009 - 13:07

We have finally reached the end of the festival ciurcuit in South-East Queensland.

Throughout the past three months there have been nine drama festivals at which Excalibur Theatre Company have competed.

From these festivals, Excalibur have won 26 awards for their production of "Provocateur" by Mark Lucas. Included in these awards were two Best Play awards, four Second Best Play awards and one Third Best Play award as well as three Best Productions of an Australian/Original Script and one award for Most Entertaining Play.

Congratulations must go to Shirley Lucas (Best Director - Yarrageh Drama Festival) for her extremely tight direction of a very fast-paced-production and also to Michelle Allan and Kirsti van der Zeil for their outstanding performances during the year winning five acting trophies between them.

Mark Lucas also won Best Actor at nine consecutive festivals.
