I am enjoying Iolanthe rehearsals immensely. Leonie Cambage and Nikkii Baker are great to work with and the chorus and principals are working hard and producing great sounds. I am looking forward to the production with eager anticipation.
Looking to form a suburban opera company in the Northern/Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Possibly have a space and some interest from singers already.
Looking to do a first production of Il Trovatore next year - 2011
My first blog entry is a call to form a new suburban opera company in the Eastern/Northern Suburbs.
My plan is to do a reduced version of Verdi's Il Trovatore. I feel there is a need to do operas, but not at the same level as Melbourne City Opera, Melbourne Opera or Vic Opera. If anyone is interested in getting involved in the project, drop me a line. I would especially like to hear from musicians and singers, but also potential directors.
