Inspired by events from Writer/Director Wayne Thallon’s childhood, ‘A Spanking in Paradise’ is a dark comedy focusing on a never-before-seen aspect of Edinburgh. Brought to life through an inspirational film-making journey and shot during a bleak Scottish January, it features the very best of established and new on-screen Scottish talent, backed by equally capable and creative production support. The film celebrates a life which, though true, has yet to be acknowledged in any brochure printed about Edinburgh; namely its twenty-odd legal and licensed brothels.

‘A Spanking in Paradise’ sold out within hours of the tickets going on sale at its Edinburgh International Film Festival Premier where it won two Trailblazer Awards and made ‘the Best of the Fest’ as the closing Film. It was instantly snapped up for US and International distribution by IFC Films in New York; arguably the best Independent distribution company in the world and owners of both the Sundance Channel and IFC Midnight.
