Where does one go in Sydney to have flame retardant sprayed on existing sets / backdrops and have them certified as conforming with the relevant Australian standard?

Certification is not required - at least not here!

I believe there is no actual certification required, only proof &/or paper work of it actualy been done. This can be as simple as being able to produce evidence of either the reciept of the purchase of the retardant product, if you do it youselves.

However all states are diferent. What is a good idea is to contact your local Fire Brigade Captain & enquire on  normal practices in your area.

Further I'm sure for a few salbs of beer they may even do it for your theatre, or at least supply the gear. There again it may be as much as a 2 case job, in the currency of the 'beer 'economy' witth a few comps thrown in.
