Acting Up Weekly Classes - Level One (Stage & Screen)

These classes are designed to give you a solid basic foundation in acting and are for students aged 15 years old to the Over 50's.

All techniques taught in these classes are based on those taught at The Actors' Institute, London (UK) (which is affiliated with The Actors Institute, New York), and cover Stage vs. Screen Technique, Characterisation, Working With Text, Stanislavski System, Monologue work, Voice Work and Learning Lines.

Beginners are welcome, as are those who have some experience in amateur theatre, school plays or in television or film (with extra work and bit parts) and wish to broaden their skills base in a professional and fun environment.

"I loved it! It provided me with a great insight into theatre work, film, TV etc. It also made me realise how much I didn't know, and how much information gets left out of Drama classes at school! I found it helpful for audition techniques, Drama at school, approaching this field in the near future and... inspiration!" - Nataya Carr, Weekly Classes Level One, 2006

"The course really helped me to identify the areas where I have room to grow, it was also inspring and a confidence booster. I feel better equiped to take on the acting world. I liked the variety of technques taught, and it was all really practical stuff. I'll definetly be using some of thes techniques in the future. Sally is an honest and insightful teacher who inspires you with her knowledge and experience, and to top it all off, she's genuinely interested in her students." - Belinda Lack, Weekly Classes Level One, 2006

"It exceeded all my expectations. Sally obviously spent much time making each lesson valuable and a learning experience for each student each week. (She) has high standards for herself and for her students - which makes you 'buy in' to the lesson each week 100%." - Kathleen Ronchi, Acting Up Weekly Classes, 2004

"I definitely feel more secure and understand the relevance of certain techniques. Sally works with empathy and is very truthful, positive and concise. Fantastic!" - Janie Forsyth, Acting Up Weekly Classes, 2004
