PRACTICAL AESTHETICS

This course will also focus on how to apply the technique to Monologues. It involves doing a thorough analysis on scenes so as to be true to the playwright’s intent and works intensively with movement and getting the actors fully into their bodies.
You will need to bring a selection of scenes that you wish to work on but have not learnt.

Thursday evenings: 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th August. 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th September. 4th and 11th of October.

COURSE DIRECTOR: Kim Krejus has participated in intensive training in David Mamet’s Practical Aesthetics technique. The technique has built upon her previous work as a teacher and informed her approach to the training of an actor. Kim is an extremely experienced and committed acting teacher
who has studied at the world’s most renowned acting schools including NIDA the Drama Centre in London, Uta Hagan in NY and with Philiippe Gaullier in Paris. She has taught at NIDA, VCA, Central Queensland Uni and the National Theatre. Kim is Melbourne’s most highly qualified acting teacher and is Melbourne’s only practitioner of the renowned Practical Aesthetics technique.
