Auditioning the Scene - 4 week workshop

This intensive workshop aimed at intermediate - advanced level actors provides students with a methodical approach to working on a scene for an audition, when all you have is the scene itself.
Utilising both scripts for theatre and for television and film you will investigate how to get the most from the scene and show yourself in the best light.
This technique came about through the work of a very successful casting agent in New York after watching the work of hundreds of actors, he realised there were always certain elements in place with the actors who got the parts (other than talent of course). He identified these elements as the 12 key principles for every successful audition which you will examine within the course.

Course Director:
Kim Krejus is an AFI nominee and an extremely experienced and committed acting teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge with her from having studied at the world's best acting schools. She has studied at NIDA, the Drama Centre in London, Uta Hagan in NY and Phillipe Gaulier in Paris as well as the prestigious Atlantic Theatre School in NY. Whilst living in the US she toured the country in the Broadway production "Noises Of" and since returning to Australia has worked on many Australian productions and has been employed as a dialect coach on CBS telemovie "The Flood" for Warner Bros. and feature film "Aquamarine" for Fox Studios. She has taught at NIDA, VCA, Central Queensland Uni and the National Theatre and is the only teacher qualified to teach the Practical Aesthetics technique in Victoria.

Course Preparation:
You will need to bring a selection of scenes from theatre and film/tv (no longer than 2 minutes each, 2 copies of each)
