Course Director:
Joelene Crnogorac
has been working professionally as an actress since she was 13 years old. She started out in the much-loved kids series 'Round The Twist' on the ABC, playing Linda Twist. From there she went on to star in 'The Man From Snowy River', 'Ocean's Girl' and 'Raw FM'. Her film credits include 'The Extra', 'Past History' and 'Irresistible' with Susan Sarandon and Sam Neil. Recently Joelene has appeared on Working Dog's new series 'Thank God You're Here' as a guest cast member, as the local nurse on "Neighbours", and as a kidnapped psychic on 'City Homicide'.
Over the years she has worked extensively and actively on her craft, and has undertaken many investigations - Practical Aesthetics and Chekhov techniques to name a few - to further enhance her understanding of character development and story realisation. Joelene works regularly at the Victorian College of the Arts as a facilitator in their actor/ director workshops for students of the VCA, where the workshops involve deconstructing and examining the actor's process for student directors.
Joelene has also gone on to write and direct her own play 'All the Way to the Top" which was staged at the Arts Centre as part of the 2007 Short and Sweet Festival, and again in Sydney at the Seymour Centre in Feburary this year. She has also directed Barry Award nominee Kate McLennan in her one woman show 'The Enthusiasts" for the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
