Acting
for TV - Scenework Essentials - Screen Acting Courses

Beginner - 8 weeks
This course focuses on how to approach a script and how
to bring
the most believable character to life for the camera. It
introduces
techniques that will help free the actor from
inhibitions, giving
them greater access to their emotional and imaginative
life.
Throughout the course you will work through a number of
scenes
from a variety of genres.
This course also covers auditioning techniques and you
will be
screen tested by a casting director following the
course. You
will walk away with pieces on tape suitable for use on
your show
reel.
By the end of the course students will have learnt
skills to
help them commit to a truthful performance, been exposed
to numerous
acting techniques and will have learnt how to cope with
performance
nerves You will also be put on 2 Divas casting database
to be
considered for suitable castings.

Suitable
for:

This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest
in acting
for television or film. It covers the foundational
elements of
on camera acting. No prior experience is necessary to
participate
in this course.

Kim Krejus
is
an AFI nominee and an extremely experienced and
committed
acting teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge with her
from
having studied at the world's best acting schools. She
has studied
at NIDA, the Drama Centre in London, at the HB
studios
in New York with Uta Hagan
and with Phillipe
Gaulier in
Paris
as well as the prestigious Atlantic Theatre
Company
Acting School in NY
.
Whilst living in the US she toured the country in the Broadway

production "Noises Of" and since returning to
Australia
has worked on many Australian productions including CBS
telemovie
"The Flood" for Warner Bros and has been
employed as an acting coach on feature film "Aquamarine"
for Fox Studios. She has taught at NIDA, VCA,
Central
Queensland Uni
and the National Theatre and
is qualified
to teach Practical Aesthetics technique in
Victoria.
In 2009 Kim returned from Los Angeles where she trained
under
master acting coach Ivana Chubbuck who has
trained proffessional
actors such as Halle Berry, Brad Pitt and Charlize
Theron (to
name a few), Kim has been endorsed to train the Ivana
Chubbuck
technique
in Australia.

The Western Australian Youth Theatre company holds regular Sunday afternoon courses in ensemble theatre for young people between 12 and 19 years old. We recommend that participants be of High School age or above, and discourage primary school students from enrolling until they’ve made the move to High School.
