CITY OF BELMONT THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP 2011

The City of Belmont is offering local youth residents the opportunity of a scholarship with Climbing Vine Theatre Company.

Learn, create, perform with us on a 12 month scholarship! THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS OPEN TO CITY OF BELMONT RESIDENTS AGED 16 to 25 ONLY.

Climbing Vine Theatre Company offers a unique opportunity for youth talent in Perth to participate in the Horizon Program, an industry based training program leading directly to paid work as a performer. We are looking for talented, dedicated young actors who wish to study in a hands-on, production based environment and develop a range of performance skills for both theatre and film. The succesful applicant will attend weekly workshops at our workshop space in Belmont. You will work with experienced industry mentors to prepare your performance in live productions and various short films in 2011-12. The program is designed to equip you with a sound foundation of performance skills and give you a true industry experience of working in a company cast. It encourages you to develop a practical tool-kit as a performer, an array of skills for use in the industry, whilst encouraging you to test your limits and always be working towards the next level.

Previous experience on stage, whether in school, community or local industry, is an advantage BUT IS NOT NECCESARY.

Only One City of Belmont Theatre Scholarship is available. The selection process will consist of both an audition and an interview stage.

In the first instance, interested young actors should email us at info@climbingvine.com.au, expressing your interest in the scholarship and why you wish to undertake the program. You will need to provide us with your email and phone contact details so that we may contact you to arrange an interview.

Scholarship applications close May 31st at 5pm.

If you would like any further information, please feel free to contact us on 9277 6190.

LEGentertainment (Australia) auditions for
By Jeeves!

Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, and Alan Ayckbourn

Scott-Leonard Landers

By George! By Jove! By Jeeves!

From the classic P.G. Wodehouse stories of the amiably dense Bertie Wooster and his estimable manservant Jeeves,
two of the theater's most celebrated talents have fashioned a jolly chamber
musical chock full of hilarity and invention. Bertie is looking forward to
enlivening a charity benefit at a church hall when his beloved banjo
mysteriously goes missing. Assisted by the unflappable Jeeves, Bertie instead
entertains the audience with an improvised account of how he and two chums -
with, as one song puts it, "a collective I.Q. of around 42" - all got their
names and identities confused in the course of one riotously raucous weekend.
This tale of escalating chaos and labyrinthine high jinx unfolds to the
accompaniment of one of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's most vivacious and sprightly
scores. BY JEEVES cleverly intertwines the twin English passions for amateur
theatrics and bumbling silliness, taking us back to a time when flirty girls
pursued men, not careers, and where good breeding took precedence over
brainpower.
