Spontaneous Insanity’s improvisation course, SPONTANEITY, has been designed to cater for adults with a curiosity about improvisation: industry professionals, hobbyists, and individuals who’d like to improve their communication skills, through to professional actors and improvisers. The course is run over three consecutive weeks and led by WAAPA Impro Tutor and Theatresports National Champion, Glenn Hall.
SPONTANEITY requires only limited improvisation or performance experience and is perfect for those just starting on their improvisation journey or for those looking to refresh their skills. SPONTANEITY is an introduction to the philosophies, theory, language, skills and basic building blocks of improvisation, which will be explored through exercises, games and discussion. It’s designed to encourage fearlessness, commitment, creativity, collaboration, and fun.
Teaching focus includes: Trusting your instinct, failing happily, inspiring your fellow players, offer and acceptance, saying yes, advance and extend, justifying physical/verbal offers and playing basic scenes.
Note: improvisation experience is not a pre-requisite for this course., but participants must be 18 years or older.
