Climbing Vine Theatre Company is offering one male actor aged 18-25 a scholarship opportunity with our company. Initially a five month scholarship, the actor will learn physical performance skills in a hands-on, production based professional environment.
The scholarship student will feature in Climbing Vine's forthcoming production "Wild Things", being staged as an official City of Perth event at the Perth Town Hall from November 26th to December 2nd 2012.
"Wild Things" is a movement-based theatre performance about the primal nature of mankind and the tribal roots of our modern cultures. The play features stories of the mountains, forrests, deserts and seas, presented with lyrical storytelling in a tribal circle atmosphere.
Scholarship applicants will undertake an interview and audition process. We are looking for a young performer with good general fitness, energy, ambition and a can-do attitude. Previous performance experience is an advantage, but it is not essential. Commitment and enthusiasm are more important than what you have done before.
You need to be available every Wednesday from 5.30pm-9.30pm from August-December, and for two weeks rehearsal (5pm-9pm weeknights, 9am-1pm weekends) in mid-November.
In the first instance, applicants should email us at info@climbingvine.com.au. Please include your name, age, phone number, any previous experience and any other general information you think we should know about you. We will then contact you to organise an interview and audition time.
Interviews and auditions will take place in early August and the succesful scholarship recipient will be advised by the 15th August.
