Sydney, Australia - Thursday 6th August, 2009: FAME is coming back to our screens, a reinvention of the original Oscar-winning film will release in cinemas nationally on September 24th. To celebrate the in-cinema release, MySpace, the Today Network and MTV are giving Australians the opportunity of a lifetime to show off their talent and get famous in the ultimate talent search The FAME GAME.
Mirroring the movie’s storyline, The FAME GAME wants to find Australia’s next big talent, whether you sing, dance, act – or whatever your special talent is The FAME GAME wants to find the best! Entering is easy, from Monday 10th August just head to www.myspace.com/famethemovie to upload your audition to be in the running. The winner will win a trip to LA where dreams come true, a career launching prize pack including a meeting with A & R execs at Universal Music (distributors of the FAME movie soundtrack), a radio spot on the Today Network, VIP passes to music events and a Summer acting class at NIDA, Australia’s most esteemed acting school. There are also loads of runner-up prizes to be won. These are serious prizes for serious talent!
And just in case our talented Aussies can’t upload their audition, in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane the Today Network will host FAME GAME open calls, see below dates and venues.
Brisbane – Monday 24th August, 09, Reddacliffe Place, City. 3pm – 6pm
Sydney – Wednesday 26th August, 09, NIDA Playhouse Theatre. 12pm – 3pm
Melbourne – Friday 28th August, 09, Victoria College of the Arts, Studio 10. 12pm – 3pm
The top five finalists will be flown to Sydney to walk the red-carpet at the Dendy Opera Quays premiere of FAME, where the winner will be announced. The finalists will join a host of local celebrities and industry big-wigs for a pre-premiere VIP party hosted by FAMOUS magazine. Also joining them on the night will be the judging panel including the Hot 30’s Tim & Biggzy - hosts of Australia’s leading nightly countdown radio show, So You Think You Can Dance judge Matt Lee, Australian Idol finalist Paulini and Tony Knight, Head of Acting at NIDA - this will give someone a serious ‘break’ into the industry!
