You know it's funny but....

I have only just twigged that there is rarely the opportunity in the community setting to do what I guess I'd call a 'proper' tech run - ie. lighting, a-v cues, prop and set changes, exits/entrances, costume changes/coordination, setting of costumes and props back stage to suit production, etc, etc.....A run where crew, actors and Director are all present and providing input and solidifying exactly who is doing what and when.

And then poor Directors and crew primarily get hammered in reviews for poor technical aspects of shows. And possibly the argument is that they are deserving of such for having failed in the planning stages. But I fear it is just not that simple/black & white - these things never are; not when so much is given by so many for no compensation and often little appreciation. Sigh.....feeling a little melancholy today clearly....

But I have resolved to go straight to our SM tonight when I get there and ask her how I can help more! [insert blush here for having not thought to do so before now....]
