I've never been asked to leave, not in over 20 years of attending community theatre, performance school theatre or professional theatre...
BUT....I like my glass of champas, a stretch of the legs and a little chin wag.....so they never have to ask me and there may have been times when it was required and I wouldn't have known because I am out the door so fast!
But as a concept I have no objection at all. Although I think that that option/necessity should be forefront in planning of any production and only utilised if absolutely essential for safety or integrity reasons.
