Perth, 1962.
Donald has just arrived from Geraldton, determined to reinvent himself. All it takes is one little white lie.
From the conservative lounge-room of a Dalkeith flat to backstage at a Hollywood strip-joint, The Fiction Makers doesn’t let the truth stand in the way of a good story. Intrigue, cover-ups and double lives unfold in the retro cool of sixties design. Take a martini, a cigarette and hold onto your mojo: this is the comedy that happens when you lie and think you won’t get caught.
As part of the School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts’ Artists-in-Residence program, playwright Kate Rice and director Jeremy Rice have worked with students from Performance Studies and Creative Writing to produce this new exciting play.
