Hi Louisa,

Adelaide is in fact full of Theatre Companies, although I don't know of too many acting schools for people your age. Is there no drama course at your school?

I do know that Blackwood Players have a Youth Drama School, but that's more aimed at 12-14 year olds.

One of the easiest things you can do to 'get into acting' (even if it's not *training*) is to audition for a show and see if you get in!

Check out the Adelaide Theatre Guide (http://theatreguide.tripod.com ) or subscribe to Encore (details are available at that website) to find out about SA's theatre companies, shows and auditions.

One group that I know which does include training (of a sort) in the process of putting on a show is Adelaide Gang Show - the annual musical variety show performed by members of the Scout & Guide Associations.
(I've been in it for 12 years! Sticking out tongue) We've only just finished the 2002 season, but if you are prepared to be an active member of Scouts or Guides then you're most welcome to audition for Gang Show next year.
Check out www.adelaidegangshow.com for details.

I hope that helps you in some way. The Theatre Association of SA may be able to help you further, you can contact them via the Adelaide Theatre Guide website, URL above.

Seeya. Danny.
