2xU / USTA USTA THEATRE
Teatr Usta Usta was founded in 2000 by Marcin Liber and Wojciech Wiński (they both had previously worked with Teatr Biuro Podróży)
Both are co-authors of performances by Teatr Biuro Podróży, with which they have travelled almost the entire world and received
numerous awards (incl. Fringe First and Critics Award at Edinburgh Festival in 1995). Teatr Usta Usta’s first performance, called ‘A’,
opened in March 2000. Later, at two subsequent MALTAs (2000, 2001), they presented ‘Sztuczne Oddychanie’ (Artificial Respiration)
and ‘The Best of’’ - performances prepared jointly with Teatr Porywacze Ciał. At last year’s festival, the premiere of yet another spectacle,
‘Cadillac’ and ‘Dancing Hz’, prepared jointly with Polski Teatr Tańca, was held. All of them subtly and metaphorically comment on our reality.
However, it is not ordinary, everyday reality that is taken with a careless, restless glance, but one that is revealed only to the eyes of the keen
observer
Also in 2003 Teatr Usta Usta opened a new performance at the Malta. ‘#2 Lily-Rosy Slaughterhouse’ is a metaphor of an avaricious civilization,
and stresses its callous mechanism of consumption. Its victim is nature - beautiful and spirited, yet, at the same time, childishly defenseless.
‘At the very heart of the urban organism there exists a place of sanctioned terror. A place filled with anxiety. Civilized, well-organized, operating
in line with principles of hygiene, clear and sterile, a place in which one murders, processes and packs - the slaughterhouse’. The next step was
“Erosion”.

A fully staged and costumed production tracing the musical and theatrical collaboration between W.S. Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan and Richard D'Oyly Carter
The story is narrated by Richasrd D'oyly Carte and the action alternates between rehearsal and performance mode presenting excerpts from all 13 Savoy operas.
At times sad, but frequently witty, this show could just as easily be titled " G & S - all the best bits"
Written & Directed by Donna and Andrew Foote this show presents all the joy and colour expected of a full Gilbert & Sullivan production
