The Bakehouse Theatre is a charming intimate theatre in the east end of Adelaide seating around 100 audience members in a warm friendly atmosphere. It presents a consistently high standard of professional shows (ranging from classics to the more “risk taking”) as well as the community atmosphere that is created by its resident amateur theatre group – Unseen Theatre Company. It is also available as a theatre for hire. Its Artistic Director, Pamela Munt believes that with all these components, it becomes a place where audiences will be able to see a variety of exciting, challenging, interesting and often off-the-wall shows, as well as a few theatre "classics" and "one-handers". In other words, there is something for everyone at this intimate, casual theatre with a charming, welcoming atmosphere, which is just down the road from the popular restaurant strip in Hutt Street. Patrons of the theatre may rely on encountering a warm, welcoming atmosphere where there is no need to dress up, where they will usually run into someone they know in the industry and where you can even take your drinks into the theatre with you! All in all, the Bakehouse provides a very good reason to get off that TV couch and into live theatre!
