Company information
Chapel Off Chapel is the City of Stonnington’s premier Arts Venue and plays host to hundreds of shows and events yearly.  Local, national and international artists frequent Chapel Off Chapel and it is widely known for the variety and quality of productions consistently on offer. Audiences love the Chapel for many reasons - friendly staff, a great bar and foyer (where you can relax and enjoy a pre-show drink) and the excitement of getting up close and personal with the arts.  These all combine to keep locals and visitors alike returning again and again.

The intimate 250 seat Chapel (in the converted former Independent Church of Prahran) has featured a steady string of stars.  Shirley Bassey, Noel Gallagher, Wolfmother and John Mayer are just a few names on the long (and growing) list of artists who have experienced this space. It is best known as the home to the popular “Live at the Chapel” series.

The Chapel Loft, a smaller 100-seater, is a popular space for intimate live music and independent theatre and has launched the careers of many emerging artists.

The Chapel Galleries host exhibitions of visual art from independent renowned artists, community groups and educational institutions.

What are you referring

What are you referring to?

Firstly, it is not the fault of the show that they have it on for only a couple of nights. This is done often at venues that are constantly booked, as local fringe shows can seldom afford to a) book for a long period of time, and b) find a decent season slot in amongst other (perhaps larger budgeted) shows. A gap in a schedule at a venue is the venue programmer's problem, not the show's.

Secondly, the show has no control whatsoever of getting reviewed, and if they did by The Age then good on them. You can't create a show based on the idea that you are going to get reviewed - audience numbers improve via word of mouth, and not so much reviews.

Thirdly, Walter Plinge is the name given to anonymous (or non-logged in/registered) people who post on this site.

I should also have added that The Age rarely reviews fringe shows, or those outside the main 'Trinity' of venues (Malthouse, MTC, VAC, Chapel off Chapel gets one occasionally, La Mama, Red Stitch). Even when a show does get a review from this publication, it is usually no more than a couple of paragraphs.

Even one line in The Age for a small show is a big deal, no matter how long their season is/was.
