Class Act Theatre Incorporated was founded in 1994. It mainly tours schools with a wide selection of T.I.E. productions - the most famous being "Bully Busters!". Its shows are run on a profit share basis and provide paid work for around 20 actors a year. Class Act has often worked as a "bridge" for young actors on their journey from amateur to professional theatre. The company, in recent years, has gained a solid reputation producing high quality mainstream theatre; most notably "Macbeth" in 2003 (directed by Marcelle Schmitz), "Othello" at The Subiaco Theatre Centre, (directed by Stephen Lee) and "Hotel Sorrento" at the Rechabites Hall, (directed by Jenny Davis) in 2004. "Macbeth" and "Hotel Sorrento" both gained 6 nominations between them at the Equity Guild Awards (for professional theatre) In 2005 Class Act mounted a colourful production of "Tweflth Night" at the Rechabites Hall directed by Stephen Lee (who was also nominated at the Equity Guild Awards for Best Director). In 2006, Class produced "Lysistrata" at the Artrage Bakery Complex and "Summer of the Seventeenth Doll" at the Rechabites Hall. Both of these plays had fantastic reviews in The West Australian and The Doll received another 4 Equity Guild Award Nominations and won "Best Supporting Actor Female". Since 2007, Class Act has teamed up with Southwest company, Bare Naked Theatre, to tour classic plays both in Perth and the country. In 2009 Class Act produced the critically acclaimed "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg" by Peter Nichols at the Subiaco Arts Centre In 2006 Class Act went national with several of its Theatre In Education Shows touring Melbourne & Sydney. 2010 Season: Bully Busters 2 - Perth, Melbourne & Sydney Suitcase of Stories - Perth Image Busters - Sydney Bully Busters Primary - Sydney & Melbourne Anzac G'day - Perth Skin Deep - Perth Loot by Joe Orton (June 4-19) at the Subiaco Arts Centre Studio Romeo and Juliet (Aug 24-28) at the Subiaco Arts Centre and then touring the Southwest Teen Talk - Perth Girls Talk & Boys Talk - Melbourne Across the Story Bridge - Perth Cyber Busters - Perth & Melbourne
