Company information
Howler’s Head At the ‘Coming of Time’ two moons meet, face to face and …one sings to the other, “let’s howl!” The howl of the head sounds the debut play, ‘Shedding’, for Luka Anderson and Maya Sollier’s Theatre Company, Howler’s Head. Luka Anderson combines his interest and explorations in music, acting, physical theatre, poetry and the absurd. Training as a Martial Artist has given him expression in movement, form and the desire to push the physical body. “Theatre has no limitations, it possesses infinite possibilities and the true sense of creative freedom” – Luka Anderson. “Storytelling has always been a part of my work. The art of conjuring up characters and their worlds is a pure delight. As a visual artist, the first stage exists in drawing, which is then transformed three-dimensionally with mostly found objects and materials. I am a maker… however I am also a performer as the characters have a habit of possessing my body and coming to life in unique rituals, which I facilitate, as my dancing feet are naturally that way inclined. Whether it be to make a gallery out of the streets, a stage out of the alleys.” – Maya Sollier. Together we wish to bring our stories and ideas to the people in whatever creative form they may encompass.

In The Underworld, the ‘Coming of Time’ is near. The black moon eclipses the white moon and the threat of the evil Tallens has returned.
Come and journey with the spirited Perpetua as she finds herself lost, surrounded by the strangest of creatures in the Underworld.

Shedding marks the theatrical debut and collaboration of Howler’s Head and The Great God Pan’s Theatre Company. In an original script, written and directed by Luke Anderson you will be moved and enchanted by Buffalo Kings, Vampires, Beautiful Murshives and Prunopitties the Prophet.

Shedding is brought to life by the collaboration of costume designers, set designers, choreographers, artists, musicians and puppeteers and inspired by the imagination of Jim Henson films like, ‘The Dark Crystal’ and ‘The Labyrinth’.

Profits from ‘Shedding’ will be donated to two charities. ‘Urban Seed’ supporting homeless and marginalized people in inner Melbourne and ‘Rebalance the Globe’ a non-profit, organization dedicated to providing long-term healthcare solutions to impoverished communities in developing countries.

The bells of the Underworld are ringing! The Evil Tallens are closing in! Hurry to the safety of The Town Center at The Cromwell Road Theatre in South Yarra. And take part in this Coming of Times’, unforgettable adventure!

Jimmy has it all: the fastest car on the road, his choice of beautiful women and a thriving drug dealing business in inner city Marrickville. He is handsome, charismatic and stylish…a 'role model' to many young men. His God fearing Greek parents are proud as can be as they are under the impression their son is running a legitimate Book Shop.
