“Megan’s work is charming, but also gutsy and heart-felt. A highly creative, polished performer of her own beautiful songs - this is an easy one to recommend."
Mark Yeoman – Director Noorderzon Festival, The Netherlands
“Megan Shorey was the best piece of good news I got out of the Australian International Music Market. An original voice, and a talent ready to go places. She’s a great export for Queensland and Australia. I’ll be booking her.” Justin MacDonnell - Artistic Director – Miami Performing Arts Centre
“A very thoughtful and moving piece ... A loud bravo from me” Justin Fleming - International award winning Playwright & Author (The Cobra / Burnt Piano)
With appearances of her works in Adelaide (APAM), Melbourne (Fringe Festival), Sydney (Short Sweet & Song), Brisbane (Cabaret Festival, Brisbane Festival & Queensland Music Festival) and Cairns (Regional Tour) bringing the Queensland born composer critical acclaim, it was Dutch producer – Hans de Visser (HDV Productions) who first brought Megan’s work to the International stage.
In August/September 2006,Megan was invited to headline the Noorderzon Festival (Holland) alongside artists such as Martha Wainwright.
Subsequent industry interest in further International touring meant an invitation to the Edinburgh Festival, where negotiations began on collaborations with several internationally renowned artists and production houses.”
