Kid Nation began in 2008, initially as an agency for children who wished to work in the entertainment industry. It quickly became apparent that these children were also searching for a program that could not only develop and hone their performing arts technique but also teach them skills that would benefit them in all areas of their lives. And thus, the Kid Nation Drama Academy was born!

Kid Nation Director, Nicola Allan, realised how much of an impact drama classes made on her life and wanted all children to share in the benefits. Shy as a child she attended her first drama class at the age of 11. From there her self esteem grew and her confidence levels were boosted. Through these classes she found that if you believe in yourself and what you are capable of, you can achieve anything!

One very special feature of the Kid Nation Drama Academy is that your child can join at any time. Our term programs are unique in that they are independent from each other and your child will never complete the same term program twice! On top of this we limit class sizes so that your child gets the attention they deserve. Kid Nation teachers are degree qualified or part way through their Dip Ed and are extremely passionate about the Performing Arts, with most of them involved in the industry on a personal and professional level. All our teachers have relevant Working with Children checks in their state.

Our programs are for ages 6 – 16 years and they aim to:

•Create a supportive and safe environment for students

•Foster an enjoyment for the performing arts

•Work to develop confidence in students

•Encourage effective collaborations between students

•Inspire students to think creatively and use their imagination

All children enrolled in the Academy will also have the option to be involved in a professional photo shoot and be submitted for photographic and TV work.
