Firstly, welcome to the Theatre Australia group.

While you may find the occasional film job posted on here, most of it has a very strong Community Theatrical leaning. The opportunity for Paid Work here is very slim. Not unlikely, just slim.

While I am not familiar with the Film Network in QLD, I am certain that certain of the local Film Schools are always on the lookout for a young acting hopeful to help their film students out. You could always start there.

As for PAID work, that is another ball game. Very rarely if Ever are there professional film ops posted here. In all honesty, for legit professional work, get your self an agent and not just any agent.

Follow the FAQ links on this site > About Theatre > Agents and Agencies and read what is there. Also, read through the Resources links on the Alliance site (actors and Media union) www.alliance.org.au - They will have a list of agents in your state, plus some general guidelines, union pay rates and so forth. If you are seriously considering Professional Work, seriously consider Union Membership. they can offer you more assistance if you are financially a member.

Beware of Scams. They are rife in this industry. Know your rights, know the rules. The links outlined above should give you everything you need to get started with.
