Lucy's current play "Three On, One Off" is showing at Subiaco Arts Centre from 16 to 24 October 2009.
With over 20 years experience as an actor, and 15 years as a director and tutor, Lucy Eyre is eager to encourage others to reap the rewards that theatre has to offer. When Lucy founded Shanghai Lil Productions Inc in 2003 it was with the intention of producing exciting and innovative plays and offering professional classes to those who wish to gain the knowledge and enhance their passion for theatre.
Written and directed by Lucy, Shanghai Lil Productions' first production "Conundrum" was performed at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) in April 2004 and received much acclaim from audiences and reviewers, including Ron Banks from the West Australian "Eyre's play is a heartfelt plea for people who must endure the chain of emotional traumas...and it provides some powerful insights into how some people's lives can be ruined by unspeakable cruelty and criminality."
Shanghai Lil Productions' second play "The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband" by Debbie Isitt, was performed at the Sun Room Theatre in December 2004, and received much acclaim, Ron Banks from The West Australian wrote "The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband raises plenty of laughs".
Lucy's directing credits include: "No Refunds" at the Regal Theatre, "Dreams" for Pocket Theatre and "Shift Swapping" at the Blue Room.
Lucy graduated with honours from ECU and WAAPA with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama Studies and Performing Arts but her training began in Sheffield, England at the age of 15 when she started private drama classes with the Joy Reynolds School. She went on to do a two year Drama/Dance course at college, which led to working and training with the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and performing in London at the Mermaid Theatre and on the Southbank.
Since moving to Perth in 1992 Lucy has also been involved with community theatre, especially KADS, where she has had the opportunity to teach new and current members and be a part of award winning productions, as actor and director.
Please feel free to call Lucy or email with any enquiries.
