Established in 1917, The University Dramatic Society is a student-run theatre company based at the University of Western Australia. Affiliated with the Guild of Undergraduates, and open to students and others alike, UDS has a reputation for producing original works, as well as performing contemporary and historical theatre. UDS operates mostly out of UWA’s Dolphin Theatre, but in recent years, has branched out to perform in other venues such as the Rechabites Hall and Jacksue Gallery. Recently, UDS successfully toured original work to South Africa, as well as participating in the Artrage Festival domestically. All productions are run entirely by members, and UDS exists as a great breeding ground for young actors, directors, producers, technicians, etc; whilst also being accessible to those looking to just have some fun.
