SHOW TONIGHT - PERTH

Labrug | 05/05/2006 - 11:09

There are still seats up for grabs for the opening night of the 1945 Pulitzer Prize Winning Production of 'Harvey.'

Elwood has a very good friend, the only thing is, no-one else can see him. Is this just a drunk's illusion, or is there something more? How is it that Elwood knows what is going to happen before it does? And who or what exactly is Harvey?

Will his sister Veta, who is at a loss about what to do with Elwood, get him commited to the institution? What happens when the doctors get it wrong? Who is normal and who is not? What is normal anyway? Do we really know? Who are we to say who needs treatment and who doesn't?

'Harvey' is written by Mary Chase. Direction by Sue Haywood. Season starts tonight. Seats still available for Friday, Saturday and the Sunday Matinee.

LEGentertainment (Australia) auditions for
By Jeeves!

Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, and Alan Ayckbourn

Scott-Leonard Landers

By George! By Jove! By Jeeves!

From the classic P.G. Wodehouse stories of the amiably dense Bertie Wooster and his estimable manservant Jeeves,
two of the theater's most celebrated talents have fashioned a jolly chamber
musical chock full of hilarity and invention. Bertie is looking forward to
enlivening a charity benefit at a church hall when his beloved banjo
mysteriously goes missing. Assisted by the unflappable Jeeves, Bertie instead
entertains the audience with an improvised account of how he and two chums -
with, as one song puts it, "a collective I.Q. of around 42" - all got their
names and identities confused in the course of one riotously raucous weekend.
This tale of escalating chaos and labyrinthine high jinx unfolds to the
accompaniment of one of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's most vivacious and sprightly
scores. BY JEEVES cleverly intertwines the twin English passions for amateur
theatrics and bumbling silliness, taking us back to a time when flirty girls
pursued men, not careers, and where good breeding took precedence over
brainpower.
