Be warned: zombies will be on the loose this May – and they’re accompanied by disco music.

Pop culture, apocalypse mayhem and the decade fashion forgot come together in Maul of the Dead, a dark horror comedy presented by Phoenix Theatre and Dark Psychic Productions.

About 30 years ago, Spotlight Theatre Co Adelaide, then called Collage, started rehearsing its first play in a members lounge room. They found a home in the old Enfield High School Drama Centre (complete with resident cat) changing their name to Spotlight in 1988, then in 1991 moving to Salter Hall in Hillcrest Hospital and in 1995 to Covernton Hall at Strathmont.

Perth actor Brendan Hanson is bringing a sensational Broadway musical comedy to life this May, both on stage and behind the scenes.

The former I Will Survive contestant is co-directing Stephen Sondheim’s Company at the Subiaco Arts Centre and also has the lead role of Robert.

‘Love is a Noun’ is a love story mingled with black comedy, it was written by award-winning, WA playwright Daniel Jon Kershaw. This play was originally seen as the much shorter, 1-Act version about a year ago in the ITA Festival at the Marloo Theatre.
