Logging on this site today for my daily look see, I see yet another crtically acclaimed show alomost pleading with people to come see. Having had our own share of disappointing audiences, one is left to wonder why people don't come along, especially when the show is publically acclaimed. To that end, I did a little survey of those folk who take the trouble to email / facebook or text their congratulations (thankfully there was enough to make the survey viable.) Having received their praise for the show, I asked them the following questions.

‘Open All Hours’ is a very funny stage play based on Roy Clarke’s enormously popular BBC TV sitcom of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. Roy is one of the few writers to receive a British Comedy Lifetime Achievement Award, this he received for having written ‘Open All Hours’, ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ (for 37 years) and ‘Keeping up Appearances’.

‘Ghosts’ is a terrific classic by Henrik Ibsen, the son of a Norwegian theatre director. Written in 1881, the play was a scornful attack on the duplicity and morals of the upper class. King Olaf stated his objections directly to an unrepentant Ibsen. Not surprisingly, at its premiere the play was described by the critics as ‘an open drain’, ‘a foul and filthy concoction’ and ‘nauseating and menacing’ - all guaranteed house fillers.

After having a thorough discussion with a good friend, and doing some quick research on an un-named agent, I decided it might be worth revising an old post...
Agents Do Not Bulk Advertise. Here I am talking about non-descript (i.e. not production specific) adverts calling for actors for commercial TV, Film and the like, offering what sounds like very generous payments, on general employment site such as Seek and occasionally, and sadly, Star Now. Both these sites are great for what they do, but it is hard to monitor all the ads that get posted here so tread with caution. You are more likely to find legit opportunity on StarNow than other general access sites.
