This is a re-posting of my original Blog Posting Events in Theatre Australia. I have chosen to republish this under Bulletin Boards as it is the most frequently read forum. We still have far too many entries submitted without an accurate tagging of key search items such as Location. 2011-09-22 Updated to cover a section on To Post New or Re-use
The Actor's Pulse, founded and Directed by Billy Milionis, opened in Sydney in 1997. It is the only school in Australia to specialise in the world-renowned Meisner Acting Technique.
Introduction to Acting
The Meisner Technique is one of the most sought-after by casting directors and industry professionals in the United States and throughout the world.
Our acting course is on-going and students progress according to their individual abilities regardless of their experience in the industry. The first ten weeks of our acting course will be focused on laying down the foundation, enabling actors to work from a much freer and instinctive place. It is designed to improve one’s ability no matter what background or experience they have had in the past.
The vision for The Actor's Pulse has always been something that goes beyond the craft of acting.
Without a craft for acting, surviving the industry would be close to impossible, if not impossible for the majority of us. However, what Billy Milionis has always believed and has passed on to his students, is that craft alone is not enough. As it is in any business; there are many things that go into making a successful career.
